  sister self-rightous busy body-- always has her nose in everyone else's business.

  makes a point to ask questions without really asking them like "oh we havent seen you here in a looong tiiiime" and "we miss hearing you comment at the meetings" .

  brother womenizer--known for dating all the "available" sisters and dumping them .

  Brother "Youwishyouwereme"---- Born and raised a JW, but had worldly father. Father forces him to go to college and join sports teams. Not only receives master's degree, but builds worldly skills and confidence. Marries hot sister from rich family, gets great job, moves out to the country, becomes elder quickly, has beautiful children, lives happily ever after.

  Brother "Truckdriver"------ Like a nomad, middle-aged brother (we think) who pops up at a new congregation every few months in places hundreds of miles apart. No one really gets to know him but nearly everyone is a little creeped out anyway.

  Armageddon Dreaming...

  i had this horrible nightmare a couple of nights ago which i haven't told anyone, fearing that they'll all conclude that it's my conscience warning me.

  here's how i remember it:.

  Cool Dream!!!!! I have never had an Armageddon dream, unfortunately. A powerful dream can be affecting as reality. They do at times teach us or even give us an impression of what may happen. Sometimes, they do become reality. But, let's face it, mostly they are just field trips to the subconscience and little to no effect on our reality. Don't worry about the dream. I mean, haven't you ever dreamed about killing someone or f@#&ing them? It just doesn't matter.

  I dont pray anymore.

  i havent prayed in years.

  i quit praying while i was still going to meetings.

  i stopped praying when my elder ex would pack the kids in the car and say if i didnt go to the meeting then i wouldnt see them again.

  What is the next Book Study Book?

  so true, ozziepost. I was recently "encouraged" to rejoin the ranks. My friend said "read the WT and the other literature" I replied "What about the Bible?" He just looked at me blankly. True Christians, huh?

  The Isaiah book was wonderful. It was so enlightening to rehash the same ideas every week.

  "OK, OK, I get it already!! The anointed are God's chosen people. Jesus words apply only to them. I'm just grateful to be tagging along. I am truly privileged to be grabbing the skirt of a Jew. This is spiritual paradise. I know nothing and have no chance of doing anything worthwhile unless I follow the Governing Body. Isaiah was really writing about them in 740 B.C. Phew! It's a good thing I made it here before God destroys everyone who thinks otherwise!!!"

  Your story breaks my heart. My condolences to you and all others who love(d) Delores. I salute your bravery in coming forward with the truth regarding the JW's. You have been a hero to me ever since I read your section of freeminds.org a few months ago. It was more than a little instrumental in my walking away from the WTS. Keep it up, Gary. You are making a positive difference in people's lives, including my own. Hope to chat with you soon, if we ever log on at the same time.

  Did You Enjoy Simply Passing The Bread & Wine At The Memorial?

  i remember how little kids got so excited when they got to actually touch the glass and the dish!

  yet, most people seemed to (respectfully) keep their heads down and try to look morbidly serious.

  was the act of "passing the emblems" a thrill for you?

  Like many others, my main concern was getting through it without a spill. I guess it was sort of a thrill, in a pathetic way. This is my first Memorial season since I started to think for myself, and I probably will not attend. Even if I were Christian I would not go because not partaking of the emblems seems to contradict any real respect for Jesus' sacrifice. Just last night, my cousin asked me if I was going, and I said that if I did I would partake. He then said "There's nothing like the second death." You know, the whole eternal Gehenna trip for undeservedly partaking. I held back the laughter and just replied "Are you serious?" He was.

  it's a beautiful sunday morning here and i'm looking forward to the first above-freezing ride of the year.

  i'm joining a bike club and taking some group rides that invariably fall on saturday and/or sunday mornings.

  it's so nice to have these time slots back.

  NICE WHEELS, LOVE TRUTH! I ride a 2003 Raleigh Heritage International. It's fitted with Campy Veloce/Daytona all around. I was always a diehard Shimano man, but I bought this bike out of love for the frameset. Once I got used to Campy, I knew there was no going back. Such precision! Such feedback! They say material things don't bring happiness, and I know deep down that's true. But after a good ride when I park this bike and gaze at it, I feel all warm and fuzzy.

  On June 6, we have a "Tour de Cure" here to benefit diabetes research. This will be my first charity ride. Can't wait. Anyone else done any charity riding?
